Water Softeners

The mechanism behind industrial water softeners

Industrial water softeners are a critical component for many commercial and industrial water treatment applications in ontario. Water softeners are simple mechanistic systems that efficiently reduce scale, calcium, magnesium and iron cations from incoming water. The process of water softening is carried out in a small, cylindrical tank filled with a high efficiency ion exchange media known as cation resin. This media is charged with sodium ions, and acts as the location for the water to become soft. A physical ion exchange reaction takes place, whereby calcium, magnesium and iron ions are exchanged for sodium ions, thereby ultimately softening the water for process use.

Makes and models of industrial water softeners

The industrial water softeners that our hamilton water treatment company, Viridian Water Systems, installs in residential and commercial settings are made to last. With manufacturers like Kinetico Canada, Watts Water Technologies, Pentair, Sapphire International Water Corp. and Good Water Warehouse, Viridian Water Systems can accommodate a very wide range of makes and models of industrial water softeners. Water treatment product manufacturers vary greatly in their production capacities, frequencies and quality.

Industrial water softeners are sized based on their capacity to soften inlet water. Manufacturers of industrial water treatment equipment such as industrial water softeners, industrial reverse osmosis systems, commercial water softeners, commercial reverse osmosis systems and uv systems, produce industrial water softeners from capacities of 20,000 grains to well over 1 million grains capacity. Water softeners, especially industrial water softeners, are critical components of a water treatment project. This being the case, it is absolutely mandatory that they be sized appropriately.
